ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany JV Cougars pulled up to Glenvar like it was just another day at the office—and walked out with a clean 6-1 win. From pitch one to the final out, they owned the field.

Top of the first? The Cougars wasted zero time. Ben Skidmore laced a double to center like he had somewhere to be. Then Carson Cosby and Zane George worked walks like total pros, and before Glenvar knew what hit ‘em, Alleghany had a three-run lead. Early and loud—just how we like it.

On the bump, Joel Bradshaw was straight locked in. Bradshaw was throwing darts—seven innings, three hits, one run, eight strikeouts. EIGHT. That’s grown-man pitching. Glenvar had no answers. It was like watching someone throw batting practice to ghosts.

Offensively, the Cougars weren’t just swinging—they were seeing the ball like beach balls. Lennox Webb led the hit squad, going 2-for-3, while Ben Skidmore, Teagan Hoke, and Talyn Elliott each brought a run home. Zane George had two walks and a whole lotta swagger. This team knows how to work the count. Eight walks total? That’s next-level patience.

Glenvar scraped together a run thanks to Landen Rakes, but that was all they got. The Cougars weren’t in the mood to let anyone back in the game. It was cruise control from there.

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday when they host Floyd County.
