DALEVILLE Va, (VR) – The Alleghany JV baseball team faced a tough start to their season today as they suffered a 15-1 loss against Lord Botetourt. The inexperienced squad, comprised largely of players new to this level of competition, struggled at the plate, recording numerous strikeouts against the Cavaliers.

Head Coach Seth Bradley commented on the team’s performance, saying, “We’re a very young team, and for many of our players, this is the first time competing at this level. While the score wasn’t in our favor, this game provided valuable experience for our athletes.” Despite the setback, Bradley remains optimistic about the team’s potential for growth. “This was our first time seeing live pitching this season. I’m looking forward to seeing how we improve going into our scrimmage next week,” he stated. The team will use this experience as a learning opportunity as they prepare for their upcoming scrimmage against Riverheads. “We have a lot of work ahead of us,” Coach Bradley added “but I’m excited to watch our growth leading up to our first official game of the season. These early challenges will only make us stronger as a team.” The boys are scheduled to take on Riverheads, on the road Thursday.
