Four Jackson River Technical Center students had a highly successful trip to Las Vegas, where they competed in the National Anatomage Tournament June 1. The JRTC team finished in the top 2 percent while competing against high school and college teams from across the country. The team was accompanied by Johnell Cantrell, who serves as the nurse aide instructor at JRTC, and Ginny Phillips, the healthcare advancement coordinator for Alleghany Highlands Public Schools. In the competitions, teams are tested on how quickly they can identify specific anatomical features of the human body. The National Anatomage Tournament is designed to support students’ anatomy and physiology learning while fostering collaboration and teamwork. The JRTC team made the trip to Las Vegas through generous support from the community. (AHPS Photo)
