This past week, as we observed Memorial Day, we remembered the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedoms. During this District Work Period, it was great to be back home in the Sixth District and hear directly from folks across the Valley about the top issues most important to them and their families. I enjoyed another “Coffee With Your Congressman” Town Hall event in Covington. Additionally, I had the opportunity to meet with some small business leaders to discuss different ways we can support our local small businesses. Finally, it was great visiting state champions at Salem High School and businesses throughout the Sixth District. As we head back into another week of session, I look forward to continuing to fight for the best interests of Virginia’s Sixth District.
Honoring Our Heroes on Memorial Day
In honor of Memorial Day, I took a moment to reflect and pay tribute to the American heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. I had the privilege of speaking at the Winchester/Frederick County Veterans Council Memorial Day Observance where we honored the over one million service members who gave their lives for our nation.
Thank you to all who have served, are currently serving, and to the families who have lost loved ones in service. May we always remember the courage and sacrifices of our fallen heroes, and may God continue to bless our country and protect our military and their families.
“Coffee With Your Congressman” Town Hall
I had a fantastic time at my “Coffee With Your Congressman” Town Hall event this week at Cucci’s Pizzeria in Covington. Thank you to everyone who came out from all sides of the political sphere to ask insightful questions and engage in a wide-ranging conversation about the top issues facing Washington and the Sixth District. Stay tuned for the next event coming to an area near you.
Supporting Our Small Businesses
This week, I had the pleasure of meeting with some leaders from the Sixth District small business community in Roanoke. As many of you know, small businesses have been struggling the past several years as they try to deal with inflation, supply chain disruptions, and labor shortages. Unfortunately, Washington bureaucrats are continuing to impose costly and unnecessary regulatory burdens that only make it harder for America’s small business owners to thrive.
Small businesses are the backbone of Virginia’s Sixth District, and it is critical that we work to find solutions that promote economic growth and freedom. I will keep working to support our small businesses and ensure they can succeed.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Congressman. If my office can ever be of assistance, please contact my Washington office at (202) 225-5431.
