On May 9, 2024 members of the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office assisted by Alleghany County Department of Social Services served search warrants on 4011 Midland Trail and 3535 Midland Trail, Covington, VA 24426 (Webb’s Callaghan Market) stemming from an elder abuse referral from DSS. During the execution of the warrants narcotics and weapons were discovered. Drug investigators were immediately notified, and separate search warrants were obtained for the entire premises.
The following persons were arrested by deputies on scene and processed at the Alleghany Regional Jail.
John Lloyd Webb 46 is facing charges for Drug possession of Schedule I or II, possession of a weapon while in possession of Schedule I or II drugs.
Margaret Ann Mullins 30 is facing charges for Drug possession of Schedule I or II, possession of a weapon while in possession of Schedule I or II drugs.
Further charges are pending against both subjects.

.081 grams of Methamphetamine
Diamondback .308 AR 10 rifle
Winchester .22 rifle
Phoenix arms .25 handgun
The elderly subject was taken to Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital and then placed in a local nursing facility.
The Sheriff’s office was assisted by members of the Alleghany Highlands Community Services Board, The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force, which consists of members from the Virginia State Police, Covington Police Department, Bath County Sheriff’s office, Craig County Sheriff’s Office and the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office.
