BATH COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Monday (Mar 4) at 6:35 a.m. on Route 39, one mile and four-tenths east of Route 688 in Bath County.
A 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup was traveling west on Route 39 when it ran off the right side of the roadway.
The driver was identified as Jose Rubi Albertico Lemus-Lemus, 51, of Beltsville, MD. Mr. Lemus was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. Four male passengers were in the vehicle. All were transported to an area hospital and treated for injuries received in the crash.
Speed was a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
