Chargers end regular season with road win

POCAHONTAS COUNTY, W.Va. – While their home regular season finale was spoiled on Tuesday night in a 90-48 loss to Parry McCluer, Bath County’s regular season would not be as they blew out Pocahontas County on the road 75-47 last Wednesday night.
 
Bath County was led by the trio of Andrew Turner, Luke Turner, and Wyatt Campbell as they scored a combined 56 of the teams 75 points in the win.
 
The Chargers were led by A. Turner’s game-high 22 points, coming on eight made field goals. Turner also knocked down all four of his free throw attempts. 
 
While An. Turner led the way in scoring, both Lu. Turner and Campbell each had 17 points with each knocking down seven field goals. Turner reeled in seven rebounds.
 
Campbell had a monstrous game for BCHS. Along with his 17 points, Campbell brought down seven rebounds, dished out eight assists, and had five steals.
 
Adding to the mix was Issac Ingram who scored eight points but had a team-high nine rebounds. 
 
The Chargers finished 12-for-16 at the foul line as a team.
 
It was only the third time this season that Bath County scored 70 or more points. The Chargers scored a season-high 81 points in their win over Meadow Bridge back on December 5th and then scored 70 in a win at Craig County on January 4th. The team won all three games that they scored at least 70 or more points. 
 
With the win over the Warriors on Wednesday, BCHS swept their season series. The Chargers were 61-54 winners in Hot Springs on January 31st.
 
Pocahontas County was led by Carter Vandevander’s team-high 14 points, while Matthew McQuain added 10.
 
Bath County finished their regular season 11-12 overall and 2-8 in the Pioneer District. In the district tournament, the 5-seeded Chargers play at Highland on Monday. The Rams were 2-0 against BCHS during the regular season.
