Harrisonburg 10, Waynesboro 7
Harrisonburg scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Waynesboro 10-7. Brody Dalton’s (Kent State) sac fly gave the Turks the lead and a two-run single by Tyler Boyesen made the score 10-7. Jackson Lucas pitched the final 6.2 innings for the Turks to get the win. He allowed one earned run on three hits.
Dalton was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and finished with five RBIs. Elijah Gulliams (Flagler) was 2-for-3 with two runs driven in while Boyesen was 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Conner Spelman (Jacksonville) was 3-for-3. Dariel Castillo (U. of Cumberlands) and Andrew Fonte (San Jacinto) each had two hits.
For the Generals, Ben Geary (Florence Darlington Tech) and Nick April-Gath (Florida Southwestern) each had two base hits. Sam Guth (Coastal Alabama) homered and had two RBIs.
Charlottesville 11, Staunton 3
The Tom Sox took the lead with five runs in the second and pulled away for the win. Tommy Landsnes (Ball State) and Aiden Harris (VCU) each delivered a two-run double during the pivotal second inning.
Lucas Cash (Bridgewater) turned in a strong mound effort, pitching eight innings and allowing three runs on eight hits. He struck out three and walked just one. Harris led the Tom Sox with three RBIs. Landsnes and Xavier McCoury L(iberty) both had two hits and two RBIs. Harrison Campi (Wofford) also had two hits.
Brody Melton (Milligan) and Cooper Marrs (Denison) each had two hits and Julian Braga (Florida Southwestern) had two RBIs.
Strasburg 13, Purcellville 1
The Express took the lead with five runs in the fourth and pulled away for the victory. Ben Green’s (UNC-Asheville) two-run double highlighted the fourth-inning outburst.
Green finished 4-for-5 with a double, homer and five RBIs. Caden Haywood (Western Carolina) belted a pair of homers and finished 3-for-4 with four runs batted in. Express starter Charlie Hogan got the win, pitching six innings and allowing one run on four hits. He struck out seven batters and walked two.
