HOT SPRINGS – Parry McCluer spoiled Bath County’s regular season Pioneer District finale with a 90-48 blowout victory in Hot Springs last Tuesday night.
The trio of Landon Catlett, Langston Cook, and Nathan Glass nearly matched the scoring of the entire Chargers team total as the three scored 45 points.
It was Catlett though, who put on a show for the Fighting Blues on Tuesday as he scored a game-high 29 points, including three 3-pointers.
Meanwhile, Cook and Glass scored 13 each for PMHS.
For Bath County (10-12, 2-8 Pioneer District), they were led by Andrew Turner’s team-high 17 points. Frankie DeBoe was the only other Charger in double figures scoring with 14 points. Both Turner and DeBoe made six field goals each.
Down 27 points at halftime 55-28, the deficit grew worse for BCHS by the end of the third quarter as the team was held to only four points and found themselves down by 46 going into the final period.
It was the second game in a row that Bath County surrendered at least 90 points. The Chargers gave up a season-high 92 points in their previous game against Narrows. Pending outcomes of the district playoff games, the game on Tuesday in Hot Springs against Parry McCluer, was likely the final home game of the season for the Chargers.
BCHS will be the five seed in the Pioneer District tournament.
