              Congratulations to Alleghany’s Purcel Turner for being named the Virginian Review football player of the week for week 8. Turner scored all four TD’s in the Cougars huge 27-10 win over Glenvar and accounted for 120 total yards of offense. He also had a 95-yard kickoff return for a score.

              Turner, who is as humble as they come, has now won two of these awards in 2023.
