The Alleghany Highlands YMCA is preparing for a ghoulishly good time.
The YMCA will host its third annual Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 3:30 until 7 p.m. with numerous fun-filled activities planned for the event. The YMCA will close at 1 p.m. that day in anticipation of a zombie takeover.
Festivities this year include a giant witch’s cauldron, games and prizes, trunk-or-treat, a haunted hallway, a candy graveyard and Halloween bake sale. Additionally, Cora Dance Alleghany is once again providing “Thriller” lessons and plans a performance using this Michael Jackson classic as a backdrop.
“The YMCA is excited to host this event,” said Michael May, YMCA health and wellness program director, personal trainer and an organizer of this year’s event. “We’ve enjoyed every minute of planning for our Spooktacular and look forward to a hauntingly good time at the YMCA.”
The Halloween Spooktacular is free to the public, and everyone is invited to attend.
“We also thank everyone who has so generously donated funds, prizes and candy to this endeavor,” May added. “The support we have received is most appreciated and somewhat overwhelming.”
