According to a report from The News and Advance a child was injured and several people were trapped on amusement rides in two separate incidents that occurred over the weekend at the State Fair of Virginia in Doswell.
The child was transported to the VCU Medical Center on Friday for treatment after being injured on one ride, according to an incident report released by Caroline County Building Official Kevin Wightman.
On Sunday, multiple people were stranded on another ride in a separate incident, according to a representative for the State Fair and multiple eyewitnesses.
The report identified the owner of the ride as Deggeller Attractions. There were no comments from the owner at this time.
Eyewitness reports state that the child had managed to maneuver out of his seat and the safety constraints.
The second incident on Sunday, which appeared to affect a miniature roller coaster, caused that ride to shut down and stranded multiple passengers in the air, No injuries were reported in that incident, which State Fair spokesperson Pam Wiley said lasted for about 20 minutes.
Wiley did not say what had caused the issue with the second ride and referred all questions to Deggeller Attractions, the owner of the ride.
