Mrs. Janis Patteson Hannah, age 91, of Covington, died Monday, June 29, 2020, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of the late Charles Edward Hannah.
Mrs. Hannah was born June 23, 1929 in Amherst County, the daughter of the late Camm Mahone Patteson and Mary Brockman Patteson.
A resident of this area for most of her life, she was employed as a teller by the former First National Bank in Covington as well as in the respiratory therapy department of the former C&O Hospital. Janis also did private duty nursing care.
Mrs. Hannah is survived by a son, Charles Mark Hannah of Covington; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Woods and husband, Larry Dean Woods, Jr., Brooke Campbell and Heather Andrews; six great grandchildren, Ayden King, Leah Woods, Ethan Campbell, Jaelynn Andrews, Kaley Andrews and Ryleigh Andrews; niece, Diane Sprouse Mills and husband, Randy; nephew, John Sprouse and wife, Amanda; great nieces and nephews, Kenny Sprouse, McKenzie Mills and Meredith Mills Ellis, and special friend and caretaker, Linda Raffo, and special friend, Patty Wright.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hannah was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Patteson Sprouse.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 10, 2020, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Bishop Alfred L. Dearing officiating.
