Covington Parks and Recreation has announced that the 2020 River Rock Summer Concert Series will kick off Friday, July 3, at 6:30 p.m.
Five Dollar Shake from Roanoke will be taking the stage at the River Rock Amphitheatre. The band plays blues and rock music.
The weekend festivities will continue on Saturday, July 4, at 6:30 p.m. with the band Uptown taking the stage.
Uptown is from Roanoke and plays some of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s most popular songs. They will even sing some country and some of today’s top 40 songs.
“So, grab your chair or blanket and join us for a weekend of great entertainment,” said Covington Parks and Recreation Director Allen Dressler.
A fireworks display will start at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines will be in effect. Guidelines will be posted throughout the park.
The event is free, and concessions will be offered by JKK concessions.
The River Rock Amphitheatre is located at the Jackson River Sport Complex off Edgemont Drive in Covington.
