The City of Covington Parks and Recreation invites the public to join them for a rocking and blasting good time in the park on Tuesday, July 4th. The activities for the day include children’s activities from 3-8 p.m. provided by AAA Entertainment.
Music starting at 3:30 and going thru the evening and then the finale of course will be the fireworks extravaganza illuminating the sky at approximately 9:30 p.m. provided by Masters Display and funded thru the city, Westrock and the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce.
The music will be provided by the group Frequency. The five-member band has over 75 years of combined experience and will be sure to provide the audience with a high-energy performance. Then continuing the musical sounds thru the evening will be the talented musical group Domino from Roanoke, VA. Domino is a high-energy horn band that will be rocking the park with their classic R&B, soul and old-school funk.
If you are a fan of Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool and The Gang, Marvin Gaye and others from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and today then you will want to grab your chair and dancing shoes and come join us for the festivities says Allen Dressler, Director of Covington Parks and Recreation.
Concessions will be available for purchase from JKK, Flurries and there will be beverages for purchase from Nowhere Brewing. The event is free and we hope you join us for this Independence Day Celebration at the Jackson River Sports Complex.
