On Saturday, June 3rd from the hours of 7 a.m. – 2 p.m., the Jackson River Scenic Trail will be occupied by nearly 500 participants of the Jackson River Scenic Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. Please use caution when driving on roads that the trail crosses. Runners will cross the road at the Petticoat Trailhead and on the straightaway of Route 687 just before Smith Bridge. The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Department will be providing coverage in these areas. We encourage the community to come out and cheer on the runners, but please be aware that parking will be limited.
