COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Alleghany Highlands Community Services Board (AHCSB) presented the Alleghany Cruisers Car Club with a plaque for winning the community’s third annual food drive contest at Christians Overcoming Problems of the Economy (COPE) Food Pantry last Wednesday.
“We chose to partner with COPE Food Pantry for this year’s annual food drive, and we are honored to be able to donate 506 items to your food pantry,” said Stephanie Helpler, AHCSB, as she presented Jim Slate, COPE, with a commendation. “We like to give back,” added Hepler.
AHCSB also recognized the Alleghany Cruisers Car Club with a plaque. The car club was the winner of the community drive contest, donating 113 items to COPE. “We will be providing pizza for your next car club meeting,” said Hepler as she presented the plaque to Mickey Floyd.
