Charles “Buddy” Wayne Cauley, 86, of Hot Springs, VA passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at his residence. 
 
            He was born December 19, 1933 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, the son of the late Charles Lerty Cauley and Edith Karnes Cauley.
 
            Buddy retired from Bath County School System after 30 years as a history and government teacher.
 
            He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War.
 
            Buddy coached basketball, golf for BCHS and Valley High School, and was the assistant coach for the football team; member of the VFW Post 4204 and the American Legions. He was member of Healing Springs Baptist Church and attended Life Line Ministries.
 
            He is survived by his son, Steven Wayne Cauley of Warm Springs, Virginia and loving friend, Natalie Cauley of Bacova, Virginia.
 
            He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Cauley Stinnett of Hot Springs, Virginia.
 
            A funeral service will be conducted at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home at 11:00 Saturday November 7, 2020 with Rev. Richard Goforth officiating. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
 
Pallbearers will be Todd Fry, Carl Chestnut, Jay Altizer, Joe Stinnett, Willie Green, Melvin Shifflett, Jackie Green, Danny Woodzell.
 
            Memorial contributions may be made to Union Chapel Cemetery, Hot Springs Fire & Rescue.
 
     Arrangements are being handled by McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.mclaughlinandyoung.com.
