Playing on the road Wednesday evening, the Bath County Chargers (5-8, 1-4) picked up their second straight victory following a 85-73 win over the Richwood Lumberjacks (0-7) in West Virginia.
The Chargers grabbed a big performance from their second leading scorer, Jayden Ryder, who scored a game and season-high 33 points along with bringing down also a game and season-high 22 rebounds.
Not to be outshined by Ryder’s career night, Andrew Turner, the Chargers leading scorer heading into the evening, also had a big performance as scored 23 points. Landon Long was the third Charger in double figures with 11.
After falling behind early to the Lumberjacks, the Chargers would gain control of the game in the second quarter and wiped away a six-point deficit to build a four point lead by halftime.
The third quarter proved to critical for the Chargers as they would build a double digit lead before the two teams combined for 57 points in the final period.
The Lumberjacks were led by Cooper Donahue who scored a team-high 22 points.
The Chargers hosted Eastern Montgomery on Friday. They host Craig County tomorrow.
