At the Class 1, Region C wrestling meet held this past weekend, the Bath County Chargers had two qualify for the Class 1 State Championships; Jonathan Bursey, and Anthony Woodson.
Meanwhile, Covington’s Luke Conner punched his ticket to the state meet as well.
Bursey finished third in the 132-weight class following a fall over Brian Davis (Galax). Woodson also finished in third place following a fall over Traven Taylor (Grayson County. Conner finished in second place after falling in the championship match of the 215-weight class to AJ Ashworth (Galax).
Grayson County won the team regional championship with 191.5 points.
For Bursey, Conner, and Woodson, it’s now onto this Friday and Saturday’s state championships held at the Salem Civic Center at 10:00 a.m.
