Jewell Kemper Anderson, 79, of 815 W. Jackson St, died, Tuesday November 10, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Anderson was born on January 16, 1941 in Covington, a daughter of the late Lewis E. and Myrtle Dew Kemper.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband Mont Ray Anderson in 2016, two sisters Wanda Hepler and Maxine Byer, three brothers Paul Kemper, Joseph Kemper, and Richard Kemper.
She retired in 1986 from the City of Covington as a Clerk.  She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church, and a graduated from the Appalachian Bible Institute.  She sang with the Kemper Trio Gospel group and loved animals.
Surviving are her daughter Robin Wright and her husband Ryan of Salem, one granddaughter Raven Jewel Craig of Salem, three step grandchildren Camryan Wright, Nathan Wright, and Lillian Wright all of Roanoke, one sister Betty Kemper, two bothers in law Sam Anderson of Columbus, OH and Ralph Anderson of Covington, one sister in law Judy Anderson of Hot Springs, a number of nieces and nephews to include a special nephew Butch Kemper and a special niece Vicky Reed and husband Steve all of Covington.
A graveside service will be held on Friday November 13, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Dan Gillette officiating.
The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Anderson’s name to the Angels of Assisi a 415 Campbell Ave. SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
