First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, 337 S. Lexington Avenue, Covington, will celebrate its 150th anniversary, Sunday, Nov. 8, at 12 noon.
The celebration will include a drive-by communion service and parade around the surrounding blocks of the church.
The theme is, “God’s Grace and Mercy Brought Us Through.”
The scripture text will be from II Peter 3:18, “Grow in grace and knowledge in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory, both now and forever.”
Church News Guidelines
The deadline for submitting church news items to the Virginian Review is Thursday at 12 p.m.
Church News items will be published Saturdays beginning one week prior to the event.
Due to the number of churches in the Highlands, the newspaper does not publish separate stories and photographs related to church homecomings unless it is the only time the church meets during the year.
Homecomings are listed in the church box with other church news items.
Church anniversary stories are published once every five years, i.e. fifth anniversaries.
