Kent Donald “Dondi” Smith, Jr., age 64, of 8352 Brubaker Drive NW, Roanoke, Virginia and formerly of Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Salem.
Kent was born November 27, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio to Beatrice “Bea” Thompson Smith, and the late Kent Donald Smith, Sr. He was an automobile detailer for Excel Truck Group of Roanoke, and a member of First Baptist Church of Clifton Forge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, drag racing, and was an avid fan of the Ohio State and Pittsburgh Steelers football teams.
In addition to his mother, Bea Smith, of Clifton Forge, Kent is survived by a stepdaughter, Christiana Burks of Roanoke; a stepson, Kameron Moore of Roanoke; three brothers, Kevin Smith of Richmond, Keith Smith and wife Gina of Clifton Forge, and Kirk Smith and wife Tonya of Clifton Forge; a step-grandchild, Elayna; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and former wife and friend, Oana Lee Smith.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
