Mr. Michael Dale Paitsel, age 60, of Covington passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem.
Michael was born November 3, 1961 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Marshall Donald and Helen Plott Paitsel. Michael started working at a very young age at Bailey Lumber Company. He held many jobs throughout the years before retiring from Whiting Jamison Oil Company. Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, neighbor, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed working in the yard, cleaning up his cars, taking his wife on drives through every car lot in town; most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Tammy Paitsel; a daughter, Tiffany Workman and husband, Jeremy of Covington; four grandchildren, Sierra Proffitt, Karson Workman, Brooklyn Workman and Austin Workman; a sister, Dreama Sue “Susie” Swink; mother-in-law, Lana Carroll; brother-in-law, Greg Carroll and Kathleen Bates; two sisters-in-law, Rhonda Paitsel and Barbara Paitsel; five nephews, Scott Paitsel and wife, Natasha, Adam Swink and wife, Marisa; Chad Paitsel and wife, Courtney, Brian Paitsel and Justin Paitsel; three great-nephews, Brantley, Ryan and Henry; one great niece, Kelsey; his best friend, Ricky Poague; special neighbors, Marshall and Donna Fox, Dickey and Diane Lockhart, Amanda and Destin Holt. He was every kid’s pawpaw and like a second dad to Candace Hoke, Kala Tucker, Sabrina Boggs, Heidi Altizer and Leila Tacy.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Paitsel, Richard Paitsel, Wayne Paitsel and David Paitsel. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Alleghany Memorial Park with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mrs. Paitsel.
