The Bath County Chargers (2-4/1-0) lost for the third straight game on Friday evening following a 42-7 loss to the East Hardy Cougars (5-1).
It was a close game in the second quarter.
Following a Wyatt Campbell rushing touchdown and a made extra point, the Chargers were tied at 7-7 with the Cougars.
However, the Cougars would rally past the Chargers tying touchdown and would regain the momentum but outscoring the Chargers 35-0 the rest of the way.
Mason Miller, and Damien Dellinger were in on the scoring for the Cougars as they each had touchdown runs.
The Cougars led 21-7 at halftime.
Despite the loss, the Chargers offense did put together over 275 yards of offense.
This was Chargers third straight road game, all losses.
The team will look to snap their losing streak this Friday when they return home to Carl F. Williams field as they host the Craig County Rockets for Pioneer District play. It will be the first district game for the Chargers since their season open victory over the Covington Cougars.
