Mountain Gateway Community College student Katie Shofstahl (center) of Clifton Forge was recognized recently as the Virginia/West Virginia Regional Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the official national academic honorary society for two-year colleges.
Shofstahl attended the regional meeting of PTK in March in Springfield, VA, as well as representing Virginia at the Catalyst National Conference of PTK, held in Denver, CO, in April.
Shofstahl also serves as president of the Alpha Eta Omicron PTK Chapter at MGCC.
With Shofstahl at the regional PTK meeting in March are Aisha Roman (left), also of Clifton Forge, a MGCC PTK member and 2022 graduate; and Ashley Pratt, one of the co-advisors for the MGCC PTK chapter.
Students eligible for membership must have completed at least 12 credit hours of coursework in their designated program of study with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
