The City of Covington’s Department of Parks and Recreation has released its 2022 River Rock Concert Series which will begin on May 21 and end on Oct. 22.
The Virginia Opry’s “A Tribute to George Strait” will feature Gentlemen South opening for the Brian Buchanan Band on May 21. There is free admission, and all donations made will benefit Natasha Ogilive, the widow of a slain police officer, Caleb Ogilvie.
On May 28, Summer Kick-Off One Take American Honey Veteran Car Show will be hosted by Kars Unlimited.
Tim Elliott will be featured on June 4, and Glen Shelton on June 11.
Black the Blue Car Show will be conducted on June 17-18, and Fiddlin’ by the River featuring MTN Heart will be on June 25.
Crobar Cane will kick off the July shows on July 2, and Stockyard Parade Domino and fireworks will be the entertainment on the Fourth of July.
Fuzzy Logic will perform on July 23, and The Kings will entertain on Aug. 6.
Streetscene will be held on Aug. 12-13, and New Standard Wilson Fairchild will finish entertaining in the month of Aug. on Aug. 27.
One Take will feature Ray Scott on Sept. 3, and Union CPU will be featured on Labor Day, Sept. 5.
The Virginia Opry will perform “The Keith Bryant Showcase” with Glen Shelton serving as emcee on Oct. 1.
Fall in Our Town/Pumpkins in the Park with Sean Elliott will close out the River Rock Concert Series.
Special downtown Main Street events are scheduled to begin on June 18 with Down on Main Street, the 50s and 60s with Five $ Shake British Invasion Experience. The time of the event is 3:00 p.m. till 9:30 p.m., and there are no admission fees required for those who attend.
On July 30, Down on Main Street, the 70s and 80s will feature Five Shades of Gray, Gypsy Nix from 3:00 p.m. till 9:30 p.m.
Classic cars, music, food, beverages and the opportunity to have a great time await those who will venture downtown Covington to attend the festivities.
