May is Mental Health Awareness Month and here at Alleghany Highlands Community Services, we are excited to host the second Annual Mental Health Awareness Month food drive!
To kick off the activities, a Mental Health Awareness walk, will be held on May 2nd from 9-11 am at the Jackson River Sports Complex. If your organization would like to participate and receive a FREE Mental Health Awareness T-Shirt, please email me with the number and sizes of t-shirts that your organization will need. We are also inviting a local influencer to speak on wellness at the event!
The walk will be a great opportunity to share information or materials with those in our community! Please let us know if you would like to bring and set up a booth to share materials about your services during the walk.
If your organization wishes to collect items for the food bank, you may choose to either drop off the items at the CIT Center in Low Moor (behind the Emmitt Clinic) weekly, every Friday, between 9-11 am or at the South Covington Food Bank, located at the United Methodist Church on Jackson St, on our final food drive day of May 31st, during the celebratory wrap-up event. The organization that collects the most items will receive a plaque and a pizza party for their staff!
Please feel free to invite other organizations to participate and you can challenge your colleagues in the area.
Thanks so much and please feel free to reach out to me should you have any questions.
