The Easter Bunny visited the Iron Gate Volunteer Fire and Rescue’s “Easter Egg Hunt” held at the Town of Iron Gate’s Playground on April 16.
Gary Craig, the emcee of the event, divided the children into three groups, ages 1-4, 5-8 and nine-12, and he revealed to them their three respective, cordoned off fields where the Easter eggs had been hidden.
Just before starting the activity, Craig announced, “Look, it’s the Easter Bunny!”
The children turned to look as Libby Legg escorted the Easter Bunny across the basketball court toward the pavilion, and one small girl ran and hugged the Easter Bunny around the knees.
After the Easter Bunny reached the grandstand, Craig revealed to the children that there was one golden Easter egg hidden in each of the fields.
He announced, “The child in each field who finds the golden Easter egg will win a prize.”
He instructed each winner to bring the golden Easter egg to the grandstand to claim the prize.
Following the Easter Egg Hunt, each of the three golden Easter egg winners was photographed with the Easter Bunny.
Then a photograph session was held for all of the children who joined in to hunt Easter eggs.
Trinity Whitmore, competing in the 1-4 age group, was the youngest participant at one year of age.
The toddler, the daughter of Thomas Whitmore and Heather Whitmore of Iron Gate, carried her own Easter egg basket during her first Easter egg hunt.
