Led by Cristi Persinger’s game-high 15 points, the Covington Cougars (3-10) girls basketball team, cruised to a 43-9 road victory over the Highland County Rams (0-8) on Friday evening.
The Rams were very shorthanded in the teams loss, as they only suited five players for the game.
The Rams trailed the Cougars 27-5 at halftime.
In the win, Lauren Bragg, added 10 points for the Cougars who picked up their third win of the season.
The Rams were led by Anna Armstrong, who scored five points.
Currently, the Cougars, are set to play on Tuesday night when they host Parry McCluer. That game is weather permitting.
