Mr. William Henderson “Bill” Gadd Sr., age 82, of Covington, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Carrington Place at Botetourt, Daleville.
He was the husband of Constance Lee Cale Gadd to whom he was married to for sixty years.
Mr. Gadd was born November 5, 1939, in Alleghany County, the son of the late Emory Echols Gadd and Oletha Mae Keith Gadd.
A lifetime resident of this community, he was employed by the former Hercules, retiring after twenty-eight years of service. Following his retirement from Hercules, Bill became an owner/operator semi-truck driver where he was known by the handle, “Wild Bill”. Bill was employed as a bus driver for the RADAR transportation system for the last seven years. He was known as a “Jack Of All Trades” and enjoyed piddling and tinkering with engines especially those on the classic cars that he loved so much. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and truly enjoyed the time he spent with his family and fur babies.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gadd is survived by his son, William “Skip” Gadd, Jr., and wife, Linda Darnell Gadd; two daughters, Glenda Lynn Gadd Myers and Teresa Lee Gadd Ervine; six grandchildren, Amelia Myers-Long and husband, Chris, Alison Lee Ervine, Casey Beth Ervine, Samantha Renee Myers, Jessica Autumn Gadd and Emily Grace Gadd; adopted grandson, Chris Kinsey; great-granddaughter, Victoria Lynn; a son-in-law, Todd Myer; two brothers, Donald W. Gadd and Dennis O. Gadd; two sisters, Leona M. Gadd and Carol S. Gadd Kemper; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, December 22, 2021, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Va. 24426.
