It was a triumphed day for the Auburn Eagles volleyball team on Saturday afternoon at the Salem Civic Center.
Not only did the team finish their season undefeated at 31-0, the Eagles, also won the Fall 2021 Class 1 Volleyball State Championship for the third time in a row.
The Eagles in straight sets, knocked off the Riverheads Gladiators for the title.
With the victory over the Gladiators on Saturday, the Eagles extended its astonishing winning streak at a phenomenal 74 matches.
Its the Eagles sixth state title overall in the schools volleyball program.
This is also, the school programs second three-peat which matched the championship teams of 2012-2014.
With the joys of winning a championship, of course comes with the sadness of defeat.
For Gladiators, it was the fourth year in a row that the school program has finished runners-up in the state title game.
Eagles senior, Allyson Martin led the game with 20 kills, coming on 40 attempts. As a team, the Gladiators, had only 11 total kills.
Meanwhile, Madeline Lavergne, had a great overall performance with five kills, four aces, and 12 digs.
Fellow Eagles senior, Anna McGuire, led the game with 34 assists.
For the Gladiators, senior, Kendyl Argenbright, led her team with a team-high five kills.
Senior, Daytone Moore had a team-high 10 assists.
