Linda Lacks Newman, age 76, of 400 Winding Way, Covington, Virginia went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Brian Center Health and Rehab Center, Low Moor.
She was born November 22, 1944 in Covington, Virginia to the late Elisha M. Lacks and Erma St. Clair Lacks. She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of Faith Baptist Church. She loved gardening, flowers, birds, and her cats.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ruble.
She is survived by her husband Harry J. Newman; a daughter, Michele Newman Sizemore and husband Todd; a son, Michael J. Newman and wife Melissa, all of Covington; nineteen grandchildren, Kaitlyn Reese and husband Blake, Kristen, Madison, Jacob, Luke, Sam, Alexandra, Ethan, Emily, Noah, Joshua, Caleb, Andrew, Olivia, Victoria and Natalie Sizemore, Alex, Hayle and Michael Newman; two great grandchildren, Genevieve and Eugene Reese; a niece, Amy Ruble Dobbs; and a nephew, Chad Ruble.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Billy Price officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke at 3:30PM. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
