At the Regional 1C championships the previous week, Tallman placed second in his competition after he cleared 10ft, 0 inches.

Tallman cleared 12 feet, 6 inches to earn himself the state championship.
In the boys shot put, Shaun Smith, Jr. placed seventh with a throw of 44-04.50
The Cougars finished 21st in the boys state track meet that consisted of 35 schools.
Auburn High School won the boys track & field events.
For Tallman, he is just a junior and will look to add more titles to his resume next season. While Smith, Jr., this was his last high school track meet and will be headed to Emory & Henry College for Football.
