Kars Unlimited of Covington, known for its long-running StreetScene car show, is excited about an all-new event coming this month to the Alleghany Highlands.
The first-ever Veterans in the Park Car Show will be held Saturday, May 29, at the Jackson River Sport Complex in Covington.
This all-new show will be held as a fundraiser for area VFW Posts. As Kars Unlimited has always supported our veterans, organizers felt this was a great way to thank all those who have served.
The Veterans in the Park Car Show is open to all types of vehicles. Registration is just $10 for entrants and the show is free to all spectators.
In addition to the cars, the Veterans in the Park Car Show will feature food vendors, a live DF.J., a 50/50 drawing and door prizes for the entrants.
Dash Plaques will be given to the first 200 patrons who enter their car.
Registration opens at 8 a.m., while the show opens to the public at 10 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m.
The Veterans in the Park Car Show is being held in conjunction with the city of Covington’s “Summer Kick-off” event, which will feature live music beginning in the afternoon and several activities for the children.
The day’s activities will conclude with a free concert from the band True Cadence from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Anyone interested in entering a car or becoming a vendor at the Veterans in the Park Car Show can visit www.karsunlimited.net or contact any Kars Unlimited member for more information.
The Jackson River Sport Complex is located off Edgemont Drive in Covington and is easily accessible from I-64, Exit 14.
“We hope to see everyone at this great new event,” said John Bush of Kars Unlimited and an organizer of the event.
As a reminder, Bush added that Kars Unlimited will be hosting its 43rd annual StreetScene in downtown Covington on Saturday, August 14.
