A large crowd of people attended the opening of Keirn’s new dine and dance parlor on South Highland Street Friday night.
Mrs. Frank L. Wysor and Mrs. J.C. Carpenter motored to Staunton yesterday and attended the meeting of Federated Garden Clubs in this district.

Today’s Headline: Chorus And Band Triumph In Annual CHS Concert.
The choral concert and band concert were greatly enjoyed last night at Curfman Hall. These presentations were the work of students of Covington High School under the training and direction of Mrs. Nell K. Fleshman.
Mike Rhodes of Hampton is spending this week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Potter.

The induction of former Covington High School basketball standout Garland Jefferson highlighted the 1986 Covington High School athletic awards banquet last night as a capacity crowd filled the school cafeteria.
Iron Gate Town Council will hold a public hearing May 8 to discuss the possible sale of the town’s electrical system to Virginia Power.
