Today’s Headline: County Receives $310,351 For Road Building.
Alleghany County will receive an allocation of $310,351 for secondary roads according to figures released Wednesday by the State Highway Commission announcing the allocations for all participating counties in the state for the fiscal year beginning July 1.
Mrs. W.W. Carpenter is a guest of her daughter, Mrs. Edith Perry on West Main Street in Covington.

An estimated $29,000 was raised by 580 participants in the 1986 WalkAmerica for the March of Dimes held Sunday afternoon.
