Dear Editor,
We have an opportunity once again, as a community, to take a public peaceful stand against the murder of unborn children. The abortion juggernaut has much in it’s arsenal, including:
1. An entire political party dedicated to keeping abortion legal by legislation, nominating and appointing of pro-abortion judges, taxpayer funding of this horror both domestically and internationally, enshrining abortion in its party platform, and including abortion as a part of “universal health care.”
2. Planned Parenthood, who aborts over 300,000 American babies annually, subsidized with hundreds of millions of tax dollars.
3. A 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision (Roe vs. Wade) legalizing the murder of unborn children for the entire nine months of pregnancy.
4. The near total silence of Christian ministers in the condemnation of child murder. This silence is a continuing phenomena that cannot square with Jesus or the biblical mandate to preach the truth in-season or out-of-season.
Before being “offended” by my condemnation of this “woman’s right,” pay a brief visit to the websiteabortionno.org to be better informed as to what we are talking about here.
Christians may want to prayerfully revisit the first chapter in Luke regarding Mary’s visit to Elizabeth, where Jesus is embryonic and Saint John the Baptist is a fetus (both babies at the time).
Our area has always had, and will continue to have, a quiet Life Chain event the first Sunday in October. We will be having one this spring on Sunday, April 3, at 2:30 in the afternoon. It will be on Thacker Road (entrance light to the Industrial Park where Walmart is located). This is a peaceful hour of both public witness and silent prayer, pleading to God to change hearts as we witness for Him about the sanctity of human life. If more detail about the Life Chain is needed, please call me at 862-1917.
Mark your calendars. Hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
John Stec
