County School System Adjusts Calendar

The calendar for Alleghany County Public Schools has been revised to account for days missed Jan. 11, Jan. 12, and Jan. 13.

April 27, April 28 and June 11 will become regular school days for students and staff. The end of the first semester will be Monday, with Tuesday designated as a teacher workday.

The school division will hold parent-teacher conference day in elementary schools Wednesday, Jan. 26. The fourth six weeks will begin Thursday, Jan. 27 and end March 8.

A fourth six weeks parent-teacher conference day for secondary students will be held Monday, March 21. Students will be released from classes early on March 21.

The last day of school is set for June 7. Additional makeup days will be added to the end of the school calendar.
