Sept. 14 Cases
Justin Lee Boone, Covington, pled guilty to possession of a Schedule I?��or II?��drug with intent to distribute (one count) and selling/distributing a Schedule III drug (two counts.
The offense dates were March 29, 2011, and April 4, 2011.
Boone was sentenced to seven years in prison with six years suspended. He was assessed $1,660 costs and ordered to pay $747 restitution. Boone will be placed on three years supervised probation following release from custody. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
Christopher Allen Higgins, Covington, pled guilty to two counts of selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I?��or II?��drug.
The offense dates were Dec. 21, 2010; and Jan. 5, 2011.
Higgins was sentenced to 10 years in prison with nine years suspended. He will be placed on three years supervised probation following release from custody. Higgins was assessed $1,115 costs and ordered to pay $300 restitution. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
Justin Matthew Evans, Gap Mills, W.Va., pled guilty to driving while intoxicated (first offense).
The offense date was Feb. 26, 2011.
Evans was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 56 days suspended. He was fined $250 and $225 costs. He was placed on unsupervised probation for one year and ordered to enroll in the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program.
Evans’ driver’s license was suspended for one year. The court approved the issuance of a restricted driver’s license that will expire Sept. 14, 2012.
Robert Michael Lefler, Clifton Forge, pled guilty to reckless driving.
Lefler was originally charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense). The offense date was Nov. 19, 2010.
He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended, and fined $100. Lefler was also assessed $100 costs. The court placed Lefler on unsupervised probation for one year. His driver’s license was suspended for six months. The court approved the issuance of a restricted driver’s license that will expire March 13, 2012.
Sept. 19 Case
Floyd King Wolfe Jr., Fincastle, pled guilty to possession of a Schedule III?��drug with intent to distribute (two counts), selling or distributing a Schedule III?��drug (three counts).
The offense dates were Sept. 28, 2010; Nov. 30, 2010; Feb. 22, 2011; March 1, 2011.
Wolfe was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with nine years suspended. He will be placed on three years supervised probation following his release. Wolfe was assessed $2,775 costs and ordered to pay $1,685 restitution. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
Sept. 20 Cases
Kevin Eugene Caldwell, Roanoke, was found guilty of violating probation.
The offense date was May 3, 2011.
The court revoked probation and sentenced Caldwell to three years, 10 months in prison. He was assessed $446 costs.
Travis Dewayne Frazier, Covington, was found guilty of violating probation.
The offense date was April 22, 2011.
The court revoked probation and sentenced Frazier to 12 months in jail, with credit for time served. He was assessed $255 costs.
Celeste Marie Sizemore, Covington, pled guilty to grand larceny.
The offense date was Dec. 3, 2010.
Sizemore was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended, and placed on supervised probation for two years. She was assessed $864.50 costs.
Finne Carson, Covington, pled guilty to possession of a Schedule II?��drug with intent to distribute.
The offense date was Dec. 21, 2010.
Carson was sentenced to five years in prison, with four years suspended. He will be placed on three years supervised probation following release. Carson was assessed $1,123 costs and ordered to pay $255 restitution. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
Gregory Darnell Key, Clifton Forge, pled guilty to selling/distributing a Schedule III drug.
The offense date was Jan. 19, 2011.
Key was sentenced to three years in prison, with two years, six months suspended. Following release from custody, he will be placed on unsupervised probation for two years. He was assessed $1,015 court costs and ordered to pay $332 restitution. Key’s driver’s license was suspended for six months.
James Roosevelt Winston, Clifton Forge, pled guilty to selling or providing for the resale of a Schedule I?��or II?��drug.
He was originally charged with manufacturing and distributing a Schedule I or II?��drug (first offense). The offense date was Sept. 29, 2010.
Winston was sentenced to five years in prison, with four years suspended. He will be placed on three years supervised probation following release. Winston was assessed $1,847 costs and ordered to pay $332 restitution.
His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
Lorenzo Donell Craighead, Covington, pled guilty to felony assault and battery.
The offense date was Aug. 10, 2010.
He was sentenced to two years in prison, with one year, eight months suspended. Craighead will be placed on two years unsupervised probation following release from custody. He was assessed $985 costs.
Rebekah L. Walthall, Roanoke, pled guilty to possession of a Schedule III drug.
The offense date was June 11, 2010.
Walthall was sentenced to six months in jail, suspended, and placed on unsupervised probation for one year. She was assessed $479.09 costs. Walthall’s driver’s license was suspended for six months. The court approved the issuance of a restricted license that will expire March 19, 2012.
Mathew Clay Kennedy, Covington, pled guilty to breaking and entering, grand larceny (two counts), possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony,
The offense date was March 19, 2011; March 28, 2011.
Kennedy was sentenced to 11 years in prison, with seven year suspended. He will be placed on three years supervised probation following release from custody. He was assessed $2,556.45 costs.
Bobby Lee Broughman Sr., Clifton Forge, pled guilty to perjury: falsely swearing an oath.
The offense date was Sept. 18, 2010.
He was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended, and placed on two years unsupervised probation. Broughman was assessed $874.18 costs.
Mark Edward Hunter, Covington, pled guilty to selling or distributing a Schedule V drug.
He was originally charged with selling or providing for the resale of Schedule I or II drug. The offense date was June 30, 2010.
Hunter was sentenced to 12 months in jail, with 212 days suspended, leaving 153 days to serve. He will be placed on unsupervised probation for one year following release from custody. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
