A Covington man has been arrested on drug charges following the execution of a search warrant at a Pine Street residence.
Sherman Edward Carroll, 52, is charged with three counts of possessing a Schedule I or II drug with intent to distribute and possession of drugs after being previously convicted of a drug offense.
Alleghany County Sheriff Hall said Carroll was arrested Wednesday and is being held at the Alleghany Regional Jail in Covington.
Hall said Caroll was arrested after his office and the Covington Police Department executed a search warrant at a 332 E. Pine St. residence Tuesday. During their search, police seized marijuana, cocaine and an undisclosed sum of cash, Hall said.
