The first two of five Christmas parades in the Highlands will be held Friday and Saturday.
The first parade is in Clifton Forge Friday beginning at 6:30 p. m. at Ridgeway and Roxbury streets.
The route is through the downtown area to the firehouse. For information, call 862-2000.
The second parade will be Saturday in Covington beginning at 6 p. m. at the MeadWestvaco parking lot on Riverside Street.
The parade will go down Main Street and end on Maple Avenue at the Alleghany Historical Society depot. Santa Claus will greet visitors at the depot.

No pre-entry required for Millboro’s Christmas Parade.
