Protecting the Rule of Law and End HUD Funding for Sanctuary Cities
The rule of law is the foundation of a safe, secure, and functioning Nation. I was proud to cosponsor the No HUD Funding for Sanctuary Cities Act, legislation that would prohibit sanctuary jurisdictions from receiving certain HUD grant funding unless they agree to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
Sanctuary jurisdictions should not be able to pick and choose which federal laws they will follow while continuing to receive federal taxpayer dollars. If a city refuses to honor immigration detainers or cooperate with federal immigration authorities, it should not expect Washington to continue sending federal funding its way.
Federal tax dollars should support communities that uphold the law, not jurisdictions that deliberately undermine federal immigration enforcement.
I will continue fighting to hold sanctuary jurisdictions accountable, strengthen the rule of law, and ensure federal resources are used to protect the American people. As your Congressman, I will always stand for safe communities, secure borders, and a government that respects and enforces the law.
Joining Bipartisan Effort to Honor 25 Years Since 9/11
Twenty-five years ago, our Nation was forever changed by the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. In honor of the 2,977 Americans who lost their lives, I am proud to cosponsor H. Res. 1511, a bipartisan resolution recognizing the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
We remember the brave men and women who ran toward danger, putting their own lives at risk to save the lives of others. First responders, firefighters, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and ordinary Americans demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness in the face of unimaginable danger.
We also stand with the survivors, families, and communities who have carried the lasting impact of that day for 25 years, as well as the organizations that have worked tirelessly to provide critical support to those affected.
Twenty-five years later, our commitment remains unwavering. We will remember the lives lost. We will honor the heroes who answered the call, and we will never forget.
Recognized the First Responders and Heros of 9/11
Last week, I was honored to join the Elkton Middle School community to commemorate the 2,977 innocent lives we lost and hear from first responders who were in New York City on September 11, 2001.
As we stood beside an I-Beam from the World Trade Center, we remember the victims, honor the heroes who ran toward danger, and never forget the courage and unity that followed that tragic day. Thank you to every first responder who put their lives at risk to protect American citizens. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Advancing Secure Elections, Supporting Farmers, and Strengthening National Security
It’s time to deliver for the American people by passing legislation that strengthens our elections, supports our farmers, and protects our national security. Last week, I joined Mornings with Fox Business to discuss the importance of passing the SAVE America Act, advancing the Farm Bill, and moving forward with Reconciliation 3.0. These priorities are about protecting the institutions, industries, and communities that keep our country strong and ensuring we have the policies in place to secure America’s future. Our farmers are at the heart of that mission. Food security is national security, and a strong nation depends on a strong agricultural sector that can produce the food that feeds our families and communities.
From protecting the food supply that sustains our communities to securing the elections that uphold our democracy, I will continue working to advance policies that strengthen Virginia’s Sixth District and our Nation as a whole. Our farmers, families, and communities deserve a government that puts their security, prosperity, and future first.

Celebrated Luray Fire Department’s 125th Anniversary
Last week, it was an honor to attend the Luray Fire Department’s 125th anniversary celebration and recognize the generations of firefighters, staff, and volunteers who have dedicated themselves to protecting their community.
For 125 years, the Luray Fire Department has stood as a pillar of service, courage, and commitment in the community. From answering emergency calls to being there for their neighbors in times of need, these men and women have consistently put the safety and well-being of others first.
I am proud to celebrate this incredible milestone alongside such a dedicated group of Virginians. Thank you to the Luray Fire Department for 125 years of service and for the sacrifices you make every day to keep your neighbors safe. Your commitment to serving others represents the very best of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
