COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Downtown Covington’s recognition as a Virginia Main Street community was marked Friday morning with a sign unveiling hosted by the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism.
Olde Town Covington Executive Director Kester Dingus said the City of Covington and Olde Town Covington met all requirements needed to receive the designation. The recognition will open additional opportunities for grants and design services to support downtown, Dingus said. He credited the community’s cooperation in reaching the milestone.
“It takes everyone working together to make this community what it is today,” Dingus said, crediting the community’s collective effort.
