COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Alleghany High School freshman golfer Jagger Rowland has been named to the First Team All-Shenandoah District following a strong season on the course. Rowland was a consistent contributor for the Cougars throughout the season, helping Alleghany compete against some of the district’s top teams.
The freshman turned in several strong individual rounds during the season, including a 36 at The Homestead’s Old Course in a match against Bath County. Rowland also recorded an 81 during the Shenandoah District Big Four tournament at Ingleside
“Jagger has had a phenomenal season. He played No. 1 for us all year, and as a young freshman who just turned 14 in July, he stood toe-to-toe with juniors and seniors playing No. 1 for the other teams in the Shenandoah District. Jagger has a bright future in golf. He’s got the work ethic, the competitive drive and, most importantly, the love for the game. Maybe that’s why he plays in sunglasses.” Head Coach Archie Lemon
