Approval of the minutes of: (1) a regular meeting held on August 4, 2026.
PUBLIC HEARING:
Public Hearing to consider amendments to Chapter 52-Stormwater Management of “The Code of the County of Alleghany, Virginia” in Article V-Fees to comply with current and future Virginia Department of Environmental Quality fees which were effective July 1, 2026.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (VDOT) UPDATE:
Ms. Susan Hammond, VDOT Resident Engineer – Update.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
A replacement needs to be made for Mr. Jason Helmintoller on the Social Services Board with a term to begin immediately and expiring June 30, 2030. This appointment can be from any district.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ms. Morgan Romeo, Executive Director – Greater Roanoke Workforce Development Board update.
Ms. Ingrid Barber, Alleghany Highlands Community Services Board (AHCSB) Executive Director – AHCSB capital programs and operational updates.
Discuss and consider Resolution of Respect for Mr. Gregory A. Dodd.
Discuss and consider authorization to execute L3Harris radio system upgrade contract and an agreement with the City of Covington on cost sharing of the upgrade.
Discuss and consider PPTRA rate for tax year 2026.
Discuss and consider supplemental appropriation request from Iron Gate Fire & Rescue for grant match funds for an ambulance.
Discuss and consider appointment of two Board members to the Tourism Advisory Committee.
