COVINGTON, VA (VR) – Currently on display at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library is a joint collection of artwork by Covington Native Kathryn Vanness, and Roanoke artist Scott Kitts.

Ms. Vanness, pictured here with Kyle Keyser, grew up in Covington and was an AHS Colt. She spent many happy hours in the library in her time here. She graduated from Roanoke College as a business administration and accounting major. She continued her professional career in the Roanoke Valley and later attained her MBA. She recently retired from a 40-year career as a non-profit accountant.

Kathy now enjoys her newfound freedom creating art in a variety of mediums and styles. She also loves reading mysteries, traveling with her husband, and spoiling her dog.

Kathy and Scott’s work can be viewed at the AHRL through the end of June. The Alleghany Highlands Regional Library is located at 406 W. Riverside Street in Covington, VA, and can be reached at 540-962-3321 or by visiting their website at www.ahrlib.org.
