LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) – Alleghany dropped a 5-4 decision to Staunton on Senior Night, falling just short after a split performance across doubles and singles.
In doubles, McCormick and Morgan lost 0-8, and Ryder and Dunbar fell 3-8. Nicely and Wills picked up the lone win with an 8-0 shutout.
Alleghany answered in singles, winning four of six matches. Lainie McCormick lost 1-8. Haley Ryder earned an 8-6 win. Alayla Morgan fell 3-8 before Kara Nicely won 8-2. Mylee Dunbar added an 8-1 victory, and Lexy Wills closed with a 4-0 win.
