Alleghany Boys Tennis Dominates Fort Defiance

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (VR) – Alleghany boys tennis swept a doubleheader against Fort Defiance on Wednesday, moving to 8-6 overall and 6-6 in the Shenandoah District with a dominant day on the court.

The Cougars opened with a 5-0 victory in the first match, winning every singles contest in decisive fashion. Bubby Entsminger started the day with a forfeit win before Riley Smith and Colten Jones each earned 8-0 shutouts. Parker Willis added an 8-1 victory and Quinten Harris closed the match with another 8-0 win.

Alleghany carried the momentum into the second match and controlled both singles and doubles play.

Entsminger and Smith each posted 6-0 wins in singles, while Jaxon Brewster also earned a 6-0 shutout. Ethan Campbell capped singles play with a 6-4 victory.

The doubles teams continued the sweep. Entsminger and Smith teamed up for a 6-0 win, Warren and Willis earned a 6-2 decision and Spencer Tallman and Joseph Persinger finished with a 6-2 victory.

Alleghany has now won eight matches this season and evened its Shenandoah District record at 6-6 heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
