LOW MOOR, Va (VR) – Alleghany delivered a statement win, sweeping Buffalo Gap in both singles and doubles to secure a dominant team victory.
The Cougars controlled every court in singles play, led by Lainie McCormick’s 8-3 win and Hayley Ryder’s 8-2 result. Alayla Morgan rolled 8-1, while Kara Nicely added an 8-5 win. Mylee Dunbar (8-3) and Gracyn Proffitt (8-4) completed the sweep, giving Alleghany a clean run through singles without dropping a match.
That momentum carried into doubles. McCormick and Morgan set the tone with a 9-0 shutout, while Ryder and Wills followed with an 8-0 win. Dunbar and Proffitt closed it out at 8-4 to finish the sweep.
